What is a bespoke suit?

A bespoke suit is handcrafted for an individual and made to fit like a glove. The multiple fittings involved in the process ensure that the fit is far superior to an off-the-rack or made-to-measure suit and typically far more comfortable too. Bespoke also offers the opportunity to develop a truly individual garment, not just in shape but in material, detail and finishing.

How does the bespoke process work?

At your first fitting (which takes approximately 45 mins), we’ll discuss your requirements and talk you through the style and fabric options and take your measurements. These details get sent to our workshop in Hong Kong, where the order is processed.

Approximately 4 weeks later, your finished garment is ready for a second fitting. At this stage, any minor adjustments can still be made to perfect the fit of the garment(s). Alterations are done in-house and usually take a week.

If a garment is required for a specific date, we will determine whether we are able to work within the timeframe you have.

All measurements, patterns and alteration details are kept on file for future orders, eliminating the need for multiple fittings; making the process much quicker and easier the second time around.

What fabric options do you have?

We have over 20,000 fabrics available.  We have an array of wools, blends, cottons, linens, mohair, tweeds, crepes and more. Most of our suiting fabrics are wool and most of shirting fabrics are cotton. We also have some advanced technology fabrics such as a ‘cool effect’ suiting and our ‘stain resistant’ shirting.

Where are your fabrics from?

Fabrics are a range of Australian grown merino wool weaved at a mill in Biella, North West Italy. We also work with fabrics from highly reputable mills such as Ermenegildo Zegna, Dormeuil and Loro Piana.

What are the turnaround times?

A bespoke suit typically takes 3-4 weeks to make and shirts take 2-3 weeks. Shipping would take another 5-8 days.

What if the finished garment doesn't fit perfectly?

At The Suit Concierge, we don’t hand the garment over to you until we (and you) are 100% satisfied with the fit of it. Our in-house tailor will make the necessary alterations.

Do I need to make an appointment?

We recommend that you book in an appointment with us, especially if you are coming in over the weekend as this allows us to allocate the time required for the ‘bespoke experience.’ However, walk-ins are welcome too.

Can I arrange a Corporate Booking for my office?

You sure can! If you are interested in making a Corporate Booking, contact us via the booking form and we will contact you to arrange the booking.

Do you do home/office appointments?

If you are purchasing a number of garments with us but are unable to find the time to come in to our shop, we can come to your home or office to get you fitted. This applies for all locations within a 25km radius from Melbourne CBD.

What are the payment options?

We accept EFTPOS, all major credit cards and cash. For online purchases, we accept PayPal too. All Payments are protected by an SSL encryption to ensure your details remain safe at all times.

How should I take care of my suit?

A suit requires care both when you are wearing it as well as when you are storing it.

  • Dry clean only when necessary – dry-cleaning your suit will affect it’s longevity.
  • When you get a stain on your suit, spot clean as soon as possible
  • Try to rotate between your suits and get an extra pair of pants to have your suit last longer.

Does The Suit Concierge sell gift vouchers?

Yes, TSC sells gift vouchers of all amounts in increments of $50. The bespoke experience makes the perfect gift.

Can you deliver anywhere in the world?

The Suit Concierge ships to all major countries in the world and we offer FREE worldwide shipping on orders over $200. For orders below AU$200, there is a $30 flat shipping rate charge.

Can you copy the style and fit of an existing garment?

We certainly can (as long as it’s a pretty basic silhouette*). If you have an old or new favorite you want to replicate it in another fabric, simply bring it in or post it to us and we’ll have it done for you.

*we recommend sending in a photo of the garment first so that we can confirm that our tailors are able to replicate the style.

Can I give you my own fabric?

We encourage clients to choose from the vast selection of fabrics we have on offer so that we are easily able to repair or replace a section of the garment, should we need to. However, if a customer has a unique or specific fabric they would like us to use, we are happy to work with it.

Can you offer advice on the best suit for me?

Absolutely! That’s what we are here for. Our team of highly skilled fashion consultants will guide you through the options most suitable for you, based on your requirements, budget and body shape.

Do you do external alterations?

Yes, we have an experienced in-house tailor who can alter your new or old favorites.
